Ashton Kutcher Presides Over The Ranch In First Trailer For Netflix Series

Cast one eye over Netflix’s slate for the next few months and the main highlights that catch the eye include the current run of House of Cards, Daredevil‘s sophomore outing come March and the return of the inimitable and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.

That’s a promising lineup; one that is all but set to uphold – if not emulate – the platform’s high bar of quality. But based on today’s first trailer, Netflix’s upcoming comedy series The Ranch falls more in line with Fuller House than the company’s greatest hits.

Ashton Kutcher, Sam Elliot and Debra Winger anchor the family drama, with the former playing the role of a football player that has witnessed his career come crashing down. In its place, he’s ordered to the family farm, forced to acclimatize to a life that he thought he left behind.

Here’s the official synopsis:

“Set in the present day on a Colorado ranch, The Ranch stars Ashton Kutcher as Colt, a failed semi-pro football player who returns home to run the family ranching business with his older brother Jameson “Rooster” (Danny Masterson) and father Beau (Sam Elliott), whom he hasn’t seen in 15 years. Debra Winger stars as Colt’s and Rooster’s mother, Maggie, who runs the local town bar.”

All ten episodes of The Ranch will drop on Netflix come April 1, 2016.
