Beta Ray Bill Rumored To Feature In Lady Sif TV Show

Based on all we’ve heard, Marvel Studios isn’t taking half measures with their planned line-up of Disney Plus shows, granting generous budgets and major MCU names to an array of projects in the works. But perhaps the most surprising character to reportedly get their own spinoff series is Lady Sif, a heroine that hasn’t graced our screens in a good few years now.

So far, details remain vague for the project, but in a recent batch of rumors posted to 4Chan and relayed by MCU Cosmic, it’s alleged that the Thor supporting player will be joined by Beta Ray Bill, a character that fans have long waited to see make his Marvel Universe debut, and was even included in an early version of Thor: Ragnarok. For context, it’s said that the show will deal with Sif’s banishment from Asgard and the aftermath, and that the heroine will team up with Bill, among others, to fight the Enchantress.

Back in 2017, Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige explained that Bill was cut out of Ragnarork because his brief appearance didn’t do the character justice, adding that “if you can’t do it justice, do it later.” So while the new rumor has yet to be confirmed, it sounds like the Lady Sif show just might be the ‘later’ that Feige teased.

In any case, it could be a long wait before we get some confirmation either way, with the series serving as just one of many Marvel shows that are reportedly headed for Disney Plus. For one thing, Sif’s old foe Loki has a spinoff that’s looking likely to arrive on the streaming service first, but before anyone makes their debut on the platform, we’ll be learning the fate of Sif’s friend Thor when Avengers: Endgame hits theaters on April 26th, 2019.
