From a disheveled Mother of Dragons to a brooding Balon Greyjoy, HBO has brought together all leading power players from the four corners of Westeros with today’s comprehensive batch of stills for Game of Thrones season 6.

Irrespective of house or allegiance, each tease acts as a portrait into the mindset of the show’s key characters, with the likes of Daenerys and Cersei shouldering their own physical scars after five seasons spent in HBO’s political cauldron. There’s plenty of juicy takeaways to be had in the gallery, but it should be noted that there are spoilers aplenty for those who are yet to catch up with the show.

Cast astray in Braavos, Maisie Williams’ Arya Stark is still licking her wounds from season 5 after she was rendered blind from a traumatic experience in the Hall of Faces. Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner) and Theon Greyjoy (Alfie Allen), meanwhile, are still alive and kicking after leaping from the towering walls of Winterfell. Further north, we also get our first look at Max von Sydow as the enigmatic Three-Eyed Raven, who is set to harbor a bond with Isaac Hempstead Wright’s Bran Stark – all grown up after remaining on the sidelines last season.

Elsewhere, incestious siblings Jamie and Cersei Lannister are reunited, though the latter still appears to be in an emotional state of shock after experiencing the wraith of the High Sparrow. Tyrion (Peter Dinklage) and Varys (Conleth Hill), the buddy cop duo Westeros deserves, are also seen side by side once more.

HBO will welcome back Game of Thrones for an “epic and insane” season 6 on April 24. The network’s Song of Ice and Fire won’t reach its crescendo there, however, with talks already underway to extend GoT‘s run into seasons 7 and 8.
