It’s been an awful long time coming – too long, perhaps – but Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, and Luke Cage are all finally ready to share the screen together for The Defenders, which is now available on Netflix.
Marvel’s starry ensemble series finds our street-level heroes going up against Sigourney Weaver’s Alexandra and the nefarious organization known only as The Hand. Introduced via the second season of Daredevil – ditto for Jon Bernthal’s Punisher – it’s a criminal gang of ninjas and crooks that appears to hold ties to Stick, while we know that The Hand is responsible for reviving Elektra from the brink of death.
Truth be told, you’d be forgiven if some of this has slipped your mind. After all, a lot has happened in the Marvel/Netflix universe over the past couple of years and there’s been much to keep track of. Thankfully, then, we’ve got a handy new recap video up above which serves as the perfect refresher for those of you looking to jump into The Defenders this weekend. It’s also presented as a rap, which makes it even more awesome and at under 4 minutes in length, it won’t take too long to get you up to speed.
All eight episodes of The Defenders are now available to stream, which leaves Marvel fans ample time to indulge in the Netflix team-up series before the oncoming IMAX premiere of Inhumans. Though if early reviews are to be believed, ABC’s adaptation of the Royal Family is not nearly on the same level as Daredevil and co., which is certainly disappointing to learn. Then again, given that Marvel was apparently aiming for “cheap and fast” with the show, it doesn’t really surprise us.
