Chuck Star Yvonne Strahovski Joining Dexter Season 7

Dexter fans are getting seriously spoiled next season, because the wonderful Yvonne Strahovski, who starred for five years on NBC’s beloved Chuck, is joining the show’s upcoming seventh season for a recurring, multi-episode role.

According to Deadline, Strahovski will play “Hannah McKay, a strong, independent woman with a past that she’s struggled to put behind her. As a turn of events leads Miami Metro Homicide to ask for her help in solving some old cases, Dexter (Michael C. Hall) works with her and begins to wonder if there’s more to this woman than she’s professed.”

Sounds like she’ll fit right in. I really hope they let Strahovski use her native Australian accent because it’s awesome and it’s the only thing that could possibly make her more alluring.

More importantly, Strahovski is a tremendous actress, one of my personal favorites, and in my professional opinion, her performance on Chuck stood as the best work done by any female on network TV for five straight years. Landing her is a huge boon for Dexter, one that isn’t likely to make me start watching seven seasons in, but one that will invariably increase the quality of the show after the universally maligned sixth season.

The seventh season of Dexter premieres September 30th on Showtime.
