The world of Jack Reacher is expanding, and fans are completely on board. Neagley, a spin-off show following a private investigator and former colleague of Reacher’s, has just dropped on Amazon Prime Video, and fans are lapping it up.
While the beloved Reacher series has just concluded its fourth season, there’s still plenty to be excited about. All eight episodes of the first season of Neagley was dropped on Prime the same day its parent series wrapped up with the latest season finale. That means fans have been able to hop straight from Reacher to the new show.
And hop straight to the new show they most certainly have. FlixPatrol numbers indicate that Neagley is currently the 2nd most-watched show on Amazon Prime, beaten to the top spot only by Reacher. Nonetheless, it’s an impressive feat for a show that’s, comparatively, much less well-known than a behemoth like Reacher.
The show, which was announced all the way back in 2024, stars Maria Sten as the titular character, along with familiar names such as Adeline Rudolph and Greyston Holt. Alan Ritchson also makes a small appearance as Reacher.
How fans have received Neagley
High streaming numbers are usually a good sign that a show is worth your time, but they’re not always the most reliable way to gauge the overall quality. So what is the consensus when it comes to Neagley?
The show has a pretty impressive 91% critic score on Rotten Tomatoes, along with an 89% audience score, which certainly suggests that fans are in for a great time. Of course, while the score is high, the show is still new, and not everyone will have had a chance to see it. Nonetheless, it’s still a very good score.
On social media people shared their views on the new shows, with most being generally positive: “Reacher dropped a banger S04 finale, and Neagley delivered a more than solid first season,” wrote one fan, adding, “This universe is expanding nicely.” Others were a little skeptical, writing, “We all loved Neagley….but did she need her own show?”
Criticisms of the show cited the lack of Alan Ritchson, but others argued that the show shouldn’t be compared to the series of which it is a spin-off. “Reacher walks into a room, and everyone knows they’re in trouble. Neagley doesn’t need the room to know.” One X user wrote.
Regardless, the positive buzz surrounding the show seems to be drowning out the few criticisms and an impressive first day on Amazon Prime makes Neagley a streaming sensation and provides a great expansion to the Reacher universe.
All episodes of Neagley are available to watch on Prime Video now.
