For long-time fans of American Horror Story, season 8 is shaping up to be a very special batch of episodes.

Why, you ask? Because it’s bringing together the worlds of “Coven” and “Murder House” in spectacular fashion – so much so, in fact, that it may well challenge Avengers: Infinity War for the title of 2018’s most ambitious crossover.

On a more serious note, the Powers That Be over at FX have today summoned up yet another promo for American Horror Story: Apocalypse, in which a solemn Sarah Paulson addresses the audience directly. The bigger question here, though, is just who is the actress playing? Stick with us, because we have a few ideas…

As this is American Horror Story‘s big crossover season, it’s looking increasingly likely that she’s been tasked with playing not one, but two big-name characters for Ryan Murphy and the team. The first appears to be Billie Dean Howard from “Murder House,” along with Coven Supreme Cordelia Goode from “Coven.” Then there’s also a character by the name of Venable, who’s supposedly the one whispering to the camera up above.

Elsewhere on the stacked cast list is Stevie Nicks as Stevie Nicks, Lily Rabe as Misty Day, Emma Roberts as Madison Montgomery, Taissa Farmiga as Zoe Benson, Gabourey Sidibe as Queenie and Frances Conroy as Myrtle Snow.

Expect American Horror Story season 8 to break new ground for FX’s anthology series on September 14th. And there’s still plenty more madness to come, as the network has gone ahead and secured plans for seasons 9 and 10.
