Batwoman Ruby Rose

The CW Releases Gorgeous New Batwoman Poster

Even though Batwoman seemed certain to receive a series order, last night's confirmation of just that sure did come as a sigh of relief. Yes, I was 99% sure that The CW would go ahead with the latest major addition to the Arrowverse, but you can never be too certain these days.

In order to celebrate, not only has the network released a brief teaser trailer, but they’ve also graced social media with a beautiful promotional banner showing off lead actress Ruby Rose as the titular heroine. That’s right, you can now follow the highly anticipated series on Facebook and other such places as we await more goodies.

As you can see, Gotham City’s new protector is given quite the extreme closeup, but it’s enough to get me geeked. In recent years, The CW has excelled at releasing vibrant, visually stimulating promo posters and banners ahead of premieres, and I expect this case to be no different.

Currently, no premiere date has been given, though the prevailing theory is that the show will drop sometime in the fall if all goes according to plan. Actually, I wouldn’t be surprised if it debuts January 2020 and ends up taking Arrow‘s timeslot. Still, it’d be fair to assume that Kate Kane will show up at some point during the “Crisis on Infinite Earths” crossover, no matter when her solo series kicks off.

For more info, be sure to check out this freshly released synopsis:

Armed with a passion for social justice and a flair for speaking her mind, Kate Kane soars onto the streets of Gotham as Batwoman, an out lesbian and highly trained street fighter primed to snuff out the failing city’s criminal resurgence.

As always, it’s advised that you keep watching this space as more news pertaining to Batwoman breaks. If I were to hazard an educated guess, the first full trailer will drop at San Diego Comic-Con in July. Regardless, we’ll keep you posted.
