Danielle Panabaker Teases What The Flash Season 5 Holds For Caitlin And Killer Frost

Though The Flash‘s fourth season did a fine job of tying up the Thinker’s arc, there were still some threads left dangling after May’s finale. And no, we’re not talking about what’s to come with Nora Allen-West, but rather, the developing situation involving Caitlin Snow.

Though The Flash‘s fourth season did a fine job of tying up the Thinker’s arc, there were still some threads left dangling after May’s finale. And no, we’re not talking about what’s to come with Nora Allen-West, but rather, the developing situation involving Caitlin Snow.

If you’ll remember, one of our favorite stalwarts lost connection to her Killer Frost alter ego late last season, but as it turns out, she has memories of using her powers as a child. Therefore, the particle accelerator explosion was not the cause of her metahuman abilities.

While speaking with Cinema Blend at San Diego Comic-Con, actress Danielle Panabaker let us all have a general idea of where the story will go when the saga resumes this fall:

“Well she’s gone right now, so I think the first thing is for Caitlin to find her and understand more about how she came to be. And if she can get her back. . . . I think what was revealed was that Killer Frost has been a part of Caitlin for longer than just when the particle accelerator exploded. I’m excited to spend some time learning about what happened, how she came to be, and that sort of thing.”

Don’t forget, we recently learned that Caitlin was, in fact, made Killer Frost by an unidentified party, so learning the truth of that will be one of the things I’m most looking forward to in season 5. Of course, delving into a character’s backstory may make it a family affair, too, which led to her next response:

“Well, I mean we did see Caitlin/Killer Frost as a child, so the first question you go to when you have questions about childhood, I think, is your parent. Maybe it’s your sibling, but Caitlin doesn’t have siblings. So I think it would probably be safe to assume she’s going to go talk to her mom.”

Keep in mind that The Flash doesn’t return for its fifth season until Tuesday, October 9 on The CW, but we’ll keep you posted if any other news regarding this situation drops before then.
