So whereas the Daredevil of Marvel’s Defenders series sported a familiar blood-red ensemble, replete with a specially designed baton and little tiny horns, below you’ll see that Matt Murdock is actually wearing the old black costume from Daredevil season 1.

Chances are Matt’s original guise was destroyed during The Defenders finale, in which Marvel and Netflix’s street-level heroes – namely Luke Cage, Jessica Jones and Iron Fist – joined forces in order to bring an end to Midland Circle. So perhaps Daredevil season 3 plans to go back to basics and chronicle the comeback staged by the true Man in Black? It’s certainly possible, and would make a nice tonic to the overstuffed second season.

Word is Daredevil season 3 has almost wrapped production, so there’s still an outside chance that the show’s third installment will be with us before the end of 2018 – in which case Iron Fist‘s second outing will be held until 2019.

Don’t take that as gospel, though, as the third season of Marvel’s Daredevil has yet to settle on an official release window at the time of writing – all we know is that filming continues on the streets (and rooftops!) of New York City and Vermont, where we’ll presumably be introduced to the wider Page family.

Elsewhere on the Marvel/Netflix slate is Luke Cage season 2, which promises to deliver a darker story (and a lot more fighting!) for Mike Colter’s Hero for Hire on June 22nd.
