DC Fans Are Furious About Swamp Thing’s Cancellation

News of Swamp Thing's cancellation has been making the rounds, and DC fans in particular are outraged, especially since the first season hasn't fully aired.

The past few weeks have been a bit of a wild ride for DC fans. Recently, The CW fully unveiled its fall schedule, which will include new seasons of Black Lightning, Supergirl, The Flash, and, of course, the final block of episodes for Arrow. Kate Kane enthusiasts also got their first look at the network’s Batwoman show, with a full-length trailer that’s bound to get viewers excited.

There’s no doubt about it – longtime Arrowverse devotees have a lot to look forward to in the coming months. Unfortunately, the same can’t be said for early adopters of the DC Universe – Warner Bros.’ video on demand streaming platform that offers a mix of original programming and classic shows.

Frankly, what’s on offer is a bit of a mixed bag – Doom Patrol seems promising, though Titans and Young Justice: Outsiders can be hit or miss – but DC fans have been eagerly awaiting the first season of Swamp Thing, which finally premiered last week. But in a rather cruel twist of fate, Warner Bros. pulled the plug on the show, with only one episode having officially premiered.

Since news of the cancellation made the rounds, it’s been reported that the decision to ax the series was solely based on money, which should come as no surprise. Still, fans from all over are extremely disappointed with Warner Bros.’ decision and have taken to Twitter to vent their frustration and feelings.

It seems that many have lost faith in DC’s streaming platform as a whole, and with Doom Patrol not having been officially renewed for a second season, we wouldn’t be surprised if some subscribers opt to jump ship and save their money.

We’re not exactly thrilled with the recent developments and can only hope that DC and Warner Bros. can get it together before the platform sinks as a whole. Thankfully, while Swamp Thing won’t be getting any more seasons, fans can still watch the remainder of the episodes as they’re uploaded over the next couple of months.
