Following the release of a new batch of images, The CW has now sent out an extended promo for next week’s episode of The Flash. This version showcases more of the villainous metahuman Tarpit and seems to indicate that Iris West is going to be fatally injured as she attempts to get her recently discovered brother off the criminal path he’s embarking on.
For further details about what’s to come, here’s the synopsis for the episode – titled “Fast Lane” – courtesy of the network:
Barry (Grant Gustin) teams up with Wells (Tom Cavanagh) to figure out a way to close the breaches, but they are distracted by a meta-human nicknamed Tar Pit (guest star Marco Grazzini) who can transform into liquid asphalt. Iris (Candice Patton) is concerned for Wally’s (Keiynan Lonsdale) safety after she finds out about his drag racing hobby. When he refuses to stop she makes a bold move that puts her in danger. Rachel Talalay directed the episode with story by Brooke Eikmeier and teleplay by Kai Yu Wu & Joe Peracchio.
The video above also contains a glimpse of Zoom ordering the Earth-2 Harrison Wells to bring him some of The Flash’s speed. Seeing how this storyline pans out is going to be very interesting, especially as this version of Wells is far from a villain; he just wants to save his daughter. We’ll learn more about that and Tarpit when this episode of The Flash airs next Tuesday.
