Trump’s MAGA Inc. pours in another $5 million in Texas Senate race, after already funneling $10 million to fund two attack ads targeting Talarico

President Trump’s super PAC, MAGA Inc., has funneled an additional $5 million into the Texas Senate race to bolster Republican efforts. This new expenditure was revealed in a Federal Election Commission filing published Saturday, signaling a major push in the high-stakes contest for the seat currently held by Senator John Cornyn.

The funds are headed to Del Ray Media LLC, a political media company based in Virginia. These dollars are expected to be put to work immediately on television and digital advertising designed to target the Democratic nominee, state Representative James Talarico.

This latest move follows a significant financial injection earlier this month, when the president’s funding arm provided $10 million to Del Ray Media to finance two separate attack ads aimed at Talarico’s campaign. While the super PAC is pouring in millions, the Senate Leadership Fund’s Texas affiliate has also stepped up, providing nearly $54 million to Paxton’s campaign according to recent filings.

The race between state Attorney General Ken Paxton and Talarico has become a massive financial battleground

As of June, Talarico’s campaign held about $21.5 million in cash on hand, which put him significantly ahead of Paxton’s $1.76 million in available funds. This gap explains why there has been so much pressure on the president to unleash his massive campaign war chest to support the party’s candidates during this cycle.

The president has pledged to spend between $400 million and $500 million on midterm races, with plans to save the remaining portion of the super PAC’s funds for the 2028 presidential election cycle. While the president previously described the total cash on hand for MAGA Inc. as “close to a billion dollars,” the super PAC officially reported $403.45 million at the end of July in its filings.

With less than seven weeks until the November election, the candidates are currently locked in a dead heat. A survey released Thursday by Hill/Emerson College Polling showed the Democrat with a 1-point lead over the state attorney general. The Cook Political Report, which tracks election trends, now lists this contest as a “toss-up.”
