Familiar Faces Return In New Images From Next Week’s Episode Of The Flash

The CW has released the first official images from next week's episode of The Flash and they focus on Barry Allen's trip back to a simpler time (well, sort of) in season one. That was of course during a period when Eddie Thawne was still alive and the disguised Eobard Thawne was still known to everyone as "Dr. Harrison Wells."

The CW has released the first official images from next week’s episode of The Flash and they focus on Barry Allen’s trip back to a simpler time (well, sort of) in season one. That was of course during a period when Eddie Thawne was still alive and the disguised Eobard Thawne was still known to everyone as “Dr. Harrison Wells.”

The Flash has played with time travel a fair bit over the past two years, but a trip back like this is unlike anything we’ve seen before. For that reason alone, this one should be a lot of fun for fans.

For more details on what to expect from “Flash Back,” here’s the official synopsis:

After the shocking revelation that Zoom is Jay Garrick (Teddy Sears), Barry (Grant Gustin) is more determined than ever to get back to Earth-2 to stop Zoom forever. Desperate to find a way to increase his speed, Barry decides to travel back in time and masquerade as his earlier self in order to get his arch-nemesis, Dr. Harrison Wells/Eobard Thawne (Tom Cavanagh), to teach him how to run faster. However, things don’t go as planned and Barry is stunned to face familiar foe Hartley Rathaway (guest star Andy Mientus), as well as old friend Eddie Thawne (guest star Rick Cosnett). Iris (Candice Patton) makes peace with her past in order to embrace her future.

It will be interesting to see how this episode of The Flash moves the Zoom storyline forward here, especially now Barry knows that yet another of his friends has betrayed him. With last night’s episode revealing why the villain wants the Scarlet Speedster’s speed, season two is really starting to take shape.
