Three Familiar Villains Return In New Arrow Synopsis

With Arrow's midseason premiere set to debut one week from tonight, it's probably safe to say that most of us are looking forward to learning more about Oliver Queen's estranged sister. After all, it wasn't revealed until the appropriately titled "Unmasked" that she's been the new Emerald Archer prowling Star City for the past few months. In fact, recent promo materials have promised we'll be seeing much more of her in the very near future.

All that awesomeness aside, I, for one, am also excited to see Ollie going toe to toe with supervillains now that he’s out of prison. Most fortunate for those who share that sentiment, episode 7×11, “Past Sins,” will deliver the goods – and with a vengeance, it seems.

To be more specific, three familiar villains will return to the series in this installment, as detailed by the official synopsis below:

DAVID RAMSEY DIRECTS HIS FIRST EPISODE OF ARROW — The past comes back to haunt both Oliver (Stephen Amell) and Laurel (Katie Cassidy). Curtis (Echo Kellum) is upset when he discovers that Diggle (David Ramsey) and Lyla (guest star Audrey Marie Anderson) have restarted The Ghost Initiative with Diaz (guest star Kirk Acevedo), China White (guest star Kelly Hu), Kane Wolfman (guest star Liam Hall) and Carrie Cutter (guest star Amy Gumenick). David Ramsey directed the episode written by Onalee Hunter Hughes & Tonya Kong (#711). Original airdate 1/28/2019.

Last we saw China White and Carrie Cutter AKA Cupid, they’d been working together, so their continued alliance doesn’t shock me. On the other hand, another guest shot to be made by Deathstroke’s son, Kane Wolfman, leads me to believe he’s the closest the producers can get to touching Slade Wilson at this point.

As you may know, the world’s deadliest assassin is now off limits for this TV series because he’s been reserved for WB’s motion picture division. And after seeing Kane wearing his father’s Deathstroke gear (sans mask) during the “Elseworlds” crossover, odds are he’s being regarded as the next best thing in Vancouver.

Arrow returns with new episodes on Monday, January 21st on The CW. “Past Sins,” meanwhile, brings up the rear on January 28th.
