First Look Promo For Supernatural Season 11, Episode 14: “The Vessel”

The first promo video for next week's brand new episode of Supernatural, which is titled "The Vessel," has hit the web. It seems the title may have a dual meaning, for not only is Lucifer still parading around in Castiel's body, but also because Dean is taking a trip back to 1944 to search for a weapon known as the "Hand of God" aboard a submarine.

At this point, you may think the Winchesters have indulged in more time travelling adventures than the crew featured in DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, but this particular case is interesting due to the fact that Dean is going alone and Sam stays behind with Castiel/Lucifer. Well, Dean has time traveled by himself before, although you have to admit that a certain element of despair is added to the mix when the people a character can rely on most happen to be residing decades into the future.

It is also recommended that you keep your eyes affixed to Lucifer throughout this episode. Not only will we gain insight into his machinations to bring down Amara/The Darkness, but we always must assume he has an even larger plan cooking. And how can we not laugh at his decision to keep Crowley as a house pet?

For more information, be sure to check out the official synopsis below:

Hoping to find a weapon powerful enough to defeat Amara (guest star Emily Swallow), Dean (Jensen Ackles) convinces “Castiel,” (Misha Collins) who is still Lucifer, to send him back in time to the last reported sighting of the Hand of God. Lucifer sees the potential in getting his hands on this weapon so goes along as Castiel and sends Dean to 1944 to the fated submarine mission that sunk the Hand of God. Meanwhile, continuing his charade with Sam (Jared Padalecki) while they wait for Dean’s return, Lucifer plans his next move. John Badham directed the episode written by Robert Berens (#1114). Original airdate 2/17/16.

Supernatural airs Wednesday nights at 9:00 pm EST on The CW.
