Tonight’s season 2 premiere of Legends of Tomorrow kicked things off with a bang as we were taken to multiple points in time alongside the ragtag team of heroes as they set off on a whole new adventure. However, they soon met their match in Damien Darhk, and things look set to get even more difficult for them following that last minute reveal.
That’s right, Darhk was working alongside the Reverse-Flash all along, and while we’ve yet to meet the other members of the Legion of Doom (Captain Cold and Malcolm Merlyn), it’s fair to say that the Legends have a serious new threat on their hands here.
It’s lucky for them then that they may be about to get some serious backup in the form of the Justice Society of America. The two teams will cross paths when next week’s episode of Legends of Tomorrow takes us to World War II, but based on what we see in the promo above, they’re definitely not going to get on upon first meeting.
For more on what to expect from this instalment, here’s the lengthy synopsis.
The Legends travel to Nazi-occupied Paris, but find themselves surrounded by the Justice Society of America (AKA JSA.) The Legends discover a time aberration that threatens the JSA, but the JSA wants nothing to do with them or their help. Nevertheless, the Legends force their way into the JSA’s mission to intercept and seize a mysterious package. Nate (Nick Zano) is desperate to prove that he should be part of the team, but he has a secret that he shares with his grandfather Commander Steel (Matthew MacCaull) that might make it difficult.
Ray (Brandon Routh) is so focused on impressing the JSA, he puts himself and Vixen (Maisie Richardson-Sellers) in danger. Meanwhile, Stein (Victor Garber) has stepped in as the leader with Rip (Arthur Darvill) gone, but when decisions aren’t being made Sara (Caity Lotz) seems to be the one calling the shots. Dominic Purcell and Franz Drameh also star. Michael Grossman directed the episode written by Chris Fedak & Sarah Nicole Jones.
As you can tell, there’s an awful lot going on here in what promises to be a huge second season for Legends of Tomorrow. It remains to be seen how the team will combat the Legion of Doom, but they’re first going to have to deal with the JSA (a team last seen in live-action in Smallville), something which promises to be an awful lot of fun.
