Couple buys a box of 45 Cadbury Halloween chocolates to get the Dairy Milk Oreo bar. Then they dump it out: ‘Are you kidding?’

They felt misled.

A couple filmed themselves testing a box of Cadbury Halloween candy after buying it for one specific bar. Tony and Dayna, who post on TikTok as @tonyanddayna, shared the video that has gained hundreds of thousands of views. In the clip, they empty the box onto a couch and react to what they find inside. The video caption reads, “So guessing this is standard @cadburyca? Come onnn.”

The woman, who has long dark hair and black cat-eye glasses, holds the camera and talks through the process. She said she picked the purple Cadbury Favourites box, which holds 45 fun treats, because the front showed a Dairy Milk Oreo bar. She added that she had never seen that bar in a box before and got really excited about it. The man beside her, who has a beard and wears a white cap with a brown patterned fleece, confirmed he had never seen it in a box either.

She explained that the box shows four flavors, so she expected roughly equal amounts of each one. In the first box she bought, she found one Dairy Milk Oreo and 44 Wonder Bars. They bought a second box to check whether every box had only one of the Oreo bars.

Couple opens second Cadbury Favourites box and counts the bars

The man held up the unopened second box and asked if there was only one Dairy Milk Oreo in each. The woman answered that it would be really disappointing if that was the case. She added that the box should tell buyers that. He then tipped the box over and dumped all the wrapped bars onto the couch in a large pile.

As the candies spilled out, the woman said, “Oh my God.” The man looked through the pile and held up a single blue-wrapped Dairy Milk Oreo bar. He said, “Oh my God, there’s only one! Are you kidding me?” The woman replied, “Yes, that’s the only one cuz it’s the blue color.”

They sorted the rest of the bars. The woman stated there were four of the Twirl bars and that the rest were all Caramilk and Wonder Bars, plus one single Dairy Milk Oreo. The man asked, “What is that about? Why, why are you so stingy?” He said he does not mind Wonder Bar but that there was a lot of them.

The woman responded that the bars are good but that it is not fair when the box advertises the Dairy Milk Oreo and there is only one inside. The man agreed and said, “I know, it’s crazy, eh?” He then broke the single Oreo bar in half and noted that they now had half of one. He ate half of it while the woman asked if he was going to eat the whole thing. He pointed out that she had eaten the first one, and she said, “Sh-t.”

Viewers left mixed reactions in the comments. One commenter called the packaging misleading and wrote, “This is false advertising!!!!” Another person said they bought a larger pack and received only a small number of the Oreo bars, then decided to sell theirs because of how uncommon they seemed. They wrote, “I bought a 90pk and we got 8… Seeing how rare these are I’m putting mine up on ebay.”

One viewer suggested contacting the company and wrote, “call the company and let them know.” Another commenter focused on the high number of Wonder Bars and wrote, “You won if you got 44 Wunderbar!” Feeling shortchanged on a purchase is a familiar frustration, much like one McDonald’s customer who ended up paying double for a smaller Filet-O-Fish.

A separate viewer pointed out that equal amounts were never promised and wrote, “they did not say that the flavors will be equal.” One more commenter predicted a response from the brand and wrote, “Here comes Cadbury commenting that it’s a manufacturing issue when you know it’s capitalism in full effect.” Complaints like this are common around the holiday, as another Canadian shopper recently noticed with Halloween bars shrinking in size.
