Fox Renews Gotham For A Third Season

Fox has announced today that Gotham will return for a third season. The series has divided fans (the decision to introduce the likes of Azrael and Mr. Freeze this year ahead of Bruce Wayne becoming Batman has not gone down well), but that hasn't stopped it from becoming one of the network's most popular dramas.

Fox has announced today that Gotham will return for a third season. The series has divided fans (the decision to introduce the likes of Azrael and Mr. Freeze this year ahead of Bruce Wayne becoming Batman has not gone down well), but that hasn’t stopped it from becoming one of the network’s most popular dramas.

In fact, it’s said that over 9 million viewers tune in every week across all forms of media, and Fox president David Madden had this to say in a press release today:

“It takes a very special team to tell the tales of Gotham. For the past two seasons, Bruno, Danny and John have masterfully honored the mythology of Gotham and brought it to life with depth, emotion and memorable high drama. This incredibly talented cast has redefined these iconic characters for a new generation, and we couldn’t be more proud of this show.”

Season two of Gotham currently airs every Monday, and it’s going to be very interesting to see what direction it goes in when it returns for a third season. With Bruce Wayne getting older, could he be about to suit up as a vigilante? That has to be on the cards eventually, but it remains to be seen whether it will happen that soon.
