Much like Daredevil, Jessica Jones and Luke Cage before it, the latest Marvel solo series will be comprised of 13 episodes in total when it drops on March 17th, and introduces the final Defender just in time for Netflix’s hotly-anticipated ensemble series premiering mid-way through 2017.

Starring Game of Thrones alum Finn Jones as the title hero, Iron Fist chronicles the remarkable journey of one Danny Rand, Marvel’s prodigal son who returns to the Big Apple only to find that his home – and family business – has fallen foul to corruption. Rand Enterprises is no longer the beacon of hope Danny remembers, and so the hero calls upon his newfound martial arts skills to fight crime in and around Hell’s Kitchen. Among the star-studded cast are Jessica Fenwick as Colleen Wing, a long-time ally to Danny who will also crop up in The Defenders, along with David Wenham and Jessica Stroup (90210) as David and Joy Meachum, respectively.

Iron Fist is booked in for a premiere on March 17th. It’ll be followed in quick succession by the eight-part Defenders series later in 2017, while there’s also the Jon Bernthal-fronted Punisher spinoff to look forward to. Neither of those two has an exact due date just yet, but we’ll keep you posted as we learn more.

Fifteen years after being presumed dead in a plane crash, Danny Rand (Finn Jones) mysteriously returns to New York City determined to reclaim his birthright and family company. However, when a long-destined enemy rises in New York, this living weapon is forced to choose between his family’s legacy and his duties as the Iron Fist.
