First Promo For Game Of Thrones Season 7, Episode 4 Teases “The Spoils Of War”

"The Spoils of War" are placed front and center in this new promo for Game of Thrones season 7, which continues on Sunday, August 6th.

“I was born to rule the Seven Kingdoms and I will.” That’s Daenerys Targaryen there, First of Her Name, the Unburnt, Queen of the Andals and the First Men and…well, you get the drift.

Last Sunday, the Mother of Dragons was left licking her wounds after Euron Greyjoy and his boisterous Iron Fleet tore through Yara and Theon’s ships with reckless abandon. That left the Game of Thrones fan-favorite in quite the predicament, and her steely exchange with Jon Snow only cranked up the tension to 11. Those viewers hoping for some respite going into this Sunday’s episode, “The Spoils of War,” needn’t bother, as the show’s latest promo has arrived to give fans a sneak peek of what’s to come. It’s relatively light on spoilers, though if you’re wanting to go into each episode fresh, avert thy eyes.

However, for those pouring over each and every detail pertaining to Game of Thrones, this snippet finds Cersei Lannister negotiating with the Iron Bank of Braavos, who will no doubt call upon her looting of Highgarden to help restore the Lannister fortune – a Lannister always repays their debts, remember.

Meanwhile, there’s a close-up shot of an unnamed Valyrian steel dagger – word is that it’s the same one that appeared in a Citadel book – and a brief glimpse of Arya closing in on Winterfell after years spent on the road. Perhaps Maisie Williams’ heroine will have a chance to rekindle her sisterly bond with Sansa? We’ll find out soon.

What we do know is that Game of Thrones season 7 is motoring along at breakneck speed, with “The Spoils of War” set to become the fourth instalment of seven. They’ll run a little longer than usual, thankfully, with this year’s finale poised to set a new record for episode length.

The penultimate season of Game of Thrones continues when “The Spoils of War” debuts via HBO on Sunday, August 6th – August 7th and Sky Atlantic for those across the pond. Further details on that instalment will likely be online early next week, so stay tuned to WGTC for more.
