“The Bells,” the fifth episode of the final run of GoT aired Sunday night, and fan reactions have been pouring in on social media. Whether they’re mourning the deaths of their favorite characters or memorializing them, the feelings have been pretty strong. We saw not only the death of Jaime and Cersei Lannister, but apparently, the brutal murder of Jaime’s character arc as well. The Lannister brother never received the redemption he sought for so long, instead getting smooshed by, literally, a city.

Another death fans are mourning more than getting angry over is the Hound. Sandor Clegane, one of the two stars of the Cleganebowl, finally had that much-awaited showdown with his brother, the Mountain. It was one hell of a battle, involving eye-gouging, gut-piercing and brain-stabbing. One would think two of those would result in a fairly quick death. But when it involves the zombie/knight Gregor, it takes falling through a brick wall hundreds of feet into dragon’s fire to die.

The final fight between the brothers resulted in the death of both, and fans are pretty upset about the Mountain. Just kidding. Here are some of the tributes to the Hound’s death from Twitter.

This isn’t Sandor, but some fans respond to death differently than others…

I still need to Google “yeet.”

If you thought it was tough mourning the death of the Hound on Sunday’s Game of Thrones, just you wait. The end is most likely coming for so many more beloved characters this weekend and it’s going to be super painful to watch.
