Want to get the inside scoop on Iron Fist ahead of March 17th? Worry not, as a new featurette has arrived just in time to preview Marvel and Netflix’s fourth solo series.
Walking on the foundations laid by Daredevil, Jessica Jones and last year’s Luke Cage, Iron Fist is a 13-part series designed to introduce Marvel’s final Defender ahead of the planned team-up series later in 2017. But before Danny Rand joins forces with Matt Murdock and the rest of the gang to tackle Sigourney Weaver’s Alexandra, he’ll be making inroads back to New York City in an attempt to course-correct Rand Enterprises and, ultimately, use his newfound abilities to stomp out crime from within NYC’s seedy underbelly. All of that and more is teased in the featurette above, which is packed to the rafters with new footage of Finn Jones as the titular Iron Fist, along with his trusty allies: Colleen Wing (Jessica Henwick) and Claire Temple (Rosario Dawson). Rounding out the cast for this one are Lewis Tan, Jessica Stroup and Tom Pelphrey.
All 13 episodes of Iron Fist will be with us on March 17th. Danny Rand’s origins story will jump-start a busy year for Marvel television, what with The Defenders and the Jon Bernthal-led Punisher series waiting in the wings. And that’s just accounting for Netflix’s offering, as the former also has The Inhumans, Runaways and Cloak and Dagger gestating in various stages of development.
