If you’re a fan of the classic graphic novel Batman: The Long Halloween, then it looks like you may really dig what Gotham has in store for us for the remainder of season 4. In other words, if you’re one for supervillain team-ups, there’ll be a lot to love over the next few months.
In case you hadn’t heard, a recent indicator had been that of some comments made by executive producers John Stephens and Danny Cannon, saying that Jerome Valeska will soon be forming his own “Legion of Horribles.” Basically, he plans on uniting the more recognizable burgeoning supervillains under his own insane vision before spreading Arkham Asylum’s madness out into Gotham City at large.
Still, one shouldn’t expect for a mad dash to the finish line, because while Mad Hatter and Scarecrow are said to be among the first to join the cause, it may take a little more time for others to enlist. In fact, a couple more formidable baddies are likely to throw in during the April 5 episode, “A Dark Knight: Mandatory Brunch Meeting,” as hinted by the synopsis:
Gordon and Bullock try to stay one step ahead as Jerome (guest star Cameron Monaghan) zeros in on his next target. Meanwhile, Nygma hosts a riddle game show in the Narrows and faces his toughest challenger in Lee Thompkins, and Penguin goes to see Butch with a proposal in the all-new “A Dark Knight: Mandatory Brunch Meeting” episode of GOTHAM airing Thursday, April 5 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.
And while nobody was outright named in the description, the list of guest stars may very well provide some answers as to whom may be on Jerome’s recruiting list:
David W. Thompson as Scarecrow, Benedict Samuel as Jervis Tetch, Cameron Monaghan as Jerome Valeska, Michelle Veintimilla as Firefly, Nathan Darrow as Mr. Freeze, Steven Hauck as Headmaster
Now, we knew to expect a return to be made by Mr. Freeze, but it does seem natural that Firefly be in tow. After all, they’ve been known to work together before, so it only makes sense that the proto-Joker add both fire and ice to the equation.
Gotham airs on Thursday nights on Fox.
