Here’s A Much Better Look At Gotham’s Batman Costume

With Batman himself set to feature in Gotham's highly anticipated series finale, it was only a matter of time before pictures of his costume hit the web. The big question, however, was whether Fox would beat everyone else to the punch by releasing official images, or if the reverse would hold true and something would leak. As fate would have it, the latter occurred when we saw the Dark Knight's duds earlier this week.

Fortunately, we have a brighter, clearer look at the costume this time around. Make no mistake, it’s actually the same shot, but this exhibit is much easier on the eyes. In fact, you can make out the details even better than before.

But as I further examine the photograph found below, I can’t help feeling conflicted. Though it does share visual similarities with what Christian Bale wore in The Dark Knight Rises as previously promised, I expected better from a major network. Perhaps somebody from the Arrowverse should’ve been commissioned because honestly, I’ve seen better cosplays.

Still, we shouldn’t judge too harshly before we see the suit in action. Based on recent information, the series finale will air on April 25th, which means that we’ll likely endure an oddly placed hiatus after “I am Bane” debuts on March 21st. Maybe it’s just me, but I’m rather put off by us having to wait so long to see the final two episodes, both of which were filmed months ago.

For more on the show’s immediate future, here’s the official synopsis for the aforementioned “I am Bane”:

On the precipice of Gotham’s reunification, Gordon and Bruce find themselves face-to-face with a newly transformed Eduardo, and discover the real mastermind behind the city’s current chaos. Meanwhile, a pregnant Barbara turns to Lee for help in the all-new “I Am Bane” episode of GOTHAM airing Thursday, March 21 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. (GTH-508) (TV-14 L, V)

Gotham airs on Thursday nights on Fox.
