When Arrow and The Flash return next month, it will be for an epic two-part crossover which sets up the events of upcoming spinoff series DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. The story begins in The Flash before concluding in Arrow, and between the introduction of Vandal Savage and the fact that we’re going to see Hawkgirl and Hawkman for the first time, this is going to be a big one!

Here’s the official synopsis for the crossover episode, which is titled “Legends of Today”:

In its second major crossover event with “Arrow,” Vandal Savage (guest star Casper Crump) arrives in Central City and sets his sights on Kendra Saunders (guest star Ciara Renée). After Vandal attacks Kendra and Cisco (Carlos Valdes), they turn to Barry (Grant Gustin) for help. Realizing how dangerous Vandal is, Barry takes Kendra to Star City and asks Oliver and team to hide her until he can figure out how to stop Vandal. However, things quickly go from bad to worse when a man with wings AKA Hawkman (guest star Falk Hentschel) shows up and flies off with Kendra. Meanwhile, Harrison (Tom Cavanagh) develops a serum to make Barry run faster and asks Jay (guest star Teddy Sears) to test it out.

As you can see from the images above, much of The Flash‘s episode is going to take place in Star City, with the action then moving to Central City when it’s Arrow‘s turn. Seeing the ramifications of this crossover should be fascinating, especially as last year’s effort – while enjoyable – didn’t really have any major consequences.
