We’re now just weeks away from the season one finale of Legends of Tomorrow, and The CW has today released a very interesting synopsis which sheds some light on what we should expect. The most intriguing thing here is the fact that there’s no mention of big bad Vandal Savage; instead, it seems like this instalment will deal with the fallout of the battle with him.

For the full scoop, here’s the official description of this episode – which is rather appropriately titled “Legendary” – of Legends of Tomorrow.

After the numerous sacrifices the team has made since the beginning of this ride, Rip (Arthur Darvill) decides that it’s time they each decide their own destiny and returns them to Central City a few months after they first left. Returned to their normal lives, each team member must individually decide if they are willing to sacrifice everything in order to save the world. Meanwhile, Sara (Caity Lotz) visits with her father (guest star Paul Blackthorne) who delivers some heartbreaking news about her sister. Dermott Downs directed the episode with story by Greg Berlanti & Chris Fedak and teleplay by Phil Klemmer & Marc Guggenheim.

It sounds very much like the team will need to decide between their normal lives and reteaming with Rip Hunter, something which could shake up the roster of heroes in a big way as we move into the already confirmed second season of Legends of Tomorrow. Of course, we already know that a mysterious caped superhero will be making his presence felt in the finale, so that too could factor into the next season of the show.

If one thing’s for certain, it’s that “Legendary” is clearly going to set the stage for the future of Legends of Tomorrow, so be sure to stay tuned for more details on the episode as its May 19th air date draws near.
