Looks Like Danny Will Be Sporting The Classic Yellow Mask For Iron Fist Season 2

Marvel and Netflix's first teaser for Iron Fist season 2 all but confirms the appearance of Danny Rand's famous yellow costume.

Just as Aquaman is about to place Arthur Curry in his famous green-and-orange ensemble, it’s looking increasingly likely that Danny Rand is on the verge of donning his own classic costume.

From what we understand, footage for Iron Fist season 2 shown at Comic-Con included a shot of Finn Jones’ street-level hero replete with that signature mask. Our Defender was seen fighting alongside Davos (Sacha Dhawan), too, as they began their preparations for the ultimate test: a fight against Shou-Lao the Undying.

Mind you, it wasn’t a full costume reveal, and Marvel and Netflix seem pretty intent on letting things develop organically before Danny Rand is in the right mind frame to suit up as New York’s latest hero – presumably in place of Daredevil, who’s still on bedrest until further notice.

Iron Fist season 2 promises to be a drastic improvement over its predecessor, which failed to live up to the hype and excitement generated by its peers – namely Daredevil, Luke Cage and Jessica Jones.

Nevertheless, September’s hotly-anticipated installment heralds an opportunity to make things right and maybe – just maybe – leave the door open for a potential Heroes for Hire team-up series. Or, failing that, something relating to the Daughters of the Dragon, given Colleen Wing and Misty Knight’s increased roles. We can but hope.

Per Netflix:

Season 2 furthers the transformation of Danny, a character with a fish out of water coming of age story making his way in a harsh new world, battling to work out who he is. This season, Danny has promised that with Matt Murdock gone, he will step up and protect his city. But a sinister plot twist threatens his very identity and he must conquer his villains to protect the town and people he holds close to his heart.

The second season of Marvel’s Iron Fist has been penciled in for a premiere on September 7th, when Raven Metzner (Sleepy Hollow) will be taking over from Scott Buck as showrunner.
