Jeremiah Reaches New Levels Of Insanity In Latest Gotham Photos

On the one hand, I’ve been rather entertained by what Gotham‘s fifth and final season has offered thus far. But on the other, I’ve been waiting with bated breath to see all of the cool stuff teased in various trailers. I guess that’s to be expected when shooting wraps before the first episode has a chance to premiere.

One such thing I’ve been geeked for is that of the confrontation between Bruce Wayne and Jeremiah Valeska in the appropriately titled “Ace Chemicals.” In that episode, we can expect to see their feud build to a crescendo – and to possibly serve as the pivotal moment marking Jeremiah’s transformative experience.

But, until the big moment arrives, we can rely on this freshly released gallery of images to tide us over. As you begin to browse, notice how both the Mad Hatter and Ecco are there to assist the Joker-like knave in his latest insane scheme. And that’s fine by me, because Francesca Root-Dodson is on pace to usurp Margot Robbie as the best live action Harley Quinn – even though the producers aren’t allowed to call her “Harley Quinn.”

It’s at this time that you may be wondering why Jeremiah is dressed like Zorro in some of the photos. Considering how he’s obsessed with Bruce and is crafting his own Wayne family reunion of sorts, it’s very likely this is some kind of twisted tribute to The Mark of Zorro. As you may know, that’s the movie the Waynes were seeing the night they were shot in most tellings of Batman’s origin.

For more on “Ace Chemicals,” be sure to check out the official synopsis:

Gordon races to uncover the criminal element threatening to end talks of Gotham’s reunification with the mainland. A very much alive Jeremiah (guest star Cameron Monaghan) returns and organizes a twisted recreation of the murder of Bruce’s parents with the help of Jervis Tetch aka Mad Hatter (guest star Benedict Samuel) in the all-new “Ace Chemicals” episode of GOTHAM airing Thursday, Feb. 21 (8:00-9:00PM ET/PT) on FOX. (GTH-507) (TV-14 D, L, V)

Gotham airs on Thursday nights on Fox, with “Ace Chemicals” set to debut on February 21st.
