Karen Gillan May Be Teasing A Return To Doctor Who With New Photo

Karen Gillan has come a long way since she left Doctor Who, going on to feature in some of the most successful blockbusters in recent years. She's played Nebula in both Guardians of the Galaxy films as well as Avengers: Infinity War and she'll reprise the role once more in Avengers 4, as Thanos' cyborg daughter was among those who survived the Snap. Plus, let's not forget that she was also in Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, which was a massive hit.

Still, the actress has never shied away from the role that made her famous and, like this new Instagram post shows, she’s always happy to reflect on her time on Doctor Who. But could she ever make a return to the sci-fi series? Well, we wouldn’t rule it out, as the actress is seemingly teasing such a thing with this photo.

Seen in the gallery below, it came accompanied by the caption, “He’s *she’s come for me in New York!” Of course, that’s hardly a confirmation of anything, but it’s a pretty intriguing social media post made only even more intriguing by the fact that Gillan’s said several times now that she’d love to star opposite Jodie Whittaker on the show. If nothing else, it at least tells us she’s still open to returning.

Of course, if the actress did find her way back to Who, she might find the TARDIS a bit more cramped than when she left it. After all, Whittaker’s Doctor is currently sharing her time machine with a trio of companions. Namely, Bradley Walsh as Graham, Tosin Cole as Ryan and Mandip Gill as Yasmin. But hey, the more the merrier, right? And fans certainly wouldn’t complain about seeing more of Amy Pond.

What do you think, though? Is Karen Gillan teasing a return to Doctor Who with this Instagram post, or is she just having some harmless fun with her followers? As always, make yourself heard in the comments section down below.
