Marvel Teases A Much Darker Season When Daredevil Returns

Marvel has teased that when Daredevil returns - which will likely be next month - fans will be in store for a much darker season than before.

“I once believed that justice could be found in a court of law, and in the light of day. But I was fooling myself. Darkness only responds to darkness.”

That’s Matt Murdock there, verbalizing his thoughts on justice, Hell’s Kitchen and the letter of the law while housed up in a confessional booth in the recent teaser for season 3 of Daredevil. So far, so familiar, but what made this Daredevil snippet so special is the fact that it heralded the return of Charlie Cox’s Man Without Fear.

He’s been completely MIA since The Defenders finale, but it shouldn’t be much longer before the one true protector of Hell’s Kitchen is back on the streets, fighting for what he believes in, and when he returns, expect things to get pretty dark. Or at least, that’s the sense we’re getting from a new Tweet sent out by the show’s official Twitter account.

On the surface, it seemed pretty innocent, with the message reading Job 12:22. But when you actually look at what that verse is, you start to get an idea that things will only get worse for Matt before they get better, as it reads: “He reveals the deep things of darkness and brings utter darkness into the light.”

Given that Marvel plans to adapt Frank Miller’s classic “Born Again” comic, it’s clear that rough times lie ahead for the Man Without Fear. Not only will he have to contend with the Kingpin once more, but Bullseye will also be entering the fray to cause trouble for our hero. It all makes for a pretty exciting season and we can’t wait to see what the studio has in store for us when Daredevil makes its way back onto the streaming service next month.
