MTV is bringing Finding Carter, a series about a teen that was abducted as a child, to a television screen near you this July, and to get fans ready, the network has released the first trailer for the show.
Finding Carter focuses on a teenage girl, Carter (Kathryn Prescott), who is picked up after a party she’s at gets busted only to be identified as a missing child. She then finds out that the woman who raised her not only isn’t her mother, but actually kidnapped her when she was just a toddler.
The series follows Carter as she struggles to reintegrate into her real family and come to terms with the awkward new situation in front of her. From the 90-second trailer, it looks like the hardest part of this transition will be understanding how much of her life up until this point was a lie. It’ll definitely be interesting to see how her character deals with this bump in the road.
Prescott will star along with Cynthia Watros, Alexis Denisof, Milena Govich, Anna Jacoby-Heron and Zac Pullam, with recurring guest appearances by Meredith Baxter and Robert Pine.
