Every day it seems we get another piece of the puzzle that only layers on even more intrigue, and just when you thought things couldn’t get any crazier, John Wesley Shipp turns up on set. Yes, the actor who played Barry Allen back on the 1990’s TV show, while also appearing on the current version of The Flash as Jay Garrick, is back in action and judging by the photo below, he’s going to be lending our heroes a hand. And he’ll be rocking his 90s costume while doing so.

How, or even why he’s found his way back into the Arrowverse is unknown, but Stephen Amell shared the pic in question along with the caption: No big deal. Just working with @JohnWesleyShipp for the first time. Nice of him to dress up for the occasion.

As we mentioned above, each day brings with it a new set photo or some piece of promo material to pore over and so far, we’re struggling to fit it all together. From Shipp’s presence to the introduction of Batwoman to Superman’s black suit and, of course, the fact that Barry and Oliver have seemingly traded places, we really can’t figure out what The CW has in store for us.

Whatever it is they’re cooking up, though, you can bet that it’ll be one heck of a crossover, and with the hype for “Elseworlds” palpable, we simply can’t wait for it all to begin. Speaking of which, the big event kicks off on Sunday, December 9 with The Flash, continues on Monday, December 10 with Arrow, and wraps up on Tuesday, December 11 with Supergirl.
