New ‘Secret Invasion’ promo proves Marvel still remembers it’s dropping on Disney Plus any day now

It's about time, Marvel!

It might not feel like it, but we’re officially just two weeks away from Secret Invasion premiering on Disney Plus, bringing an end to a Marvel TV series drought that fans have been struggling through since last October. And yet, oddly enough, Marvel Studios hasn’t been plugging the show like crazy on social media. In fact, folks had just started to question whether Kevin Feige and company had totally forgotten that the Samuel L. Jackson vehicle was on its way.

Well, in a move that’s conspicuous in its timing, Marvel has proven that it is aware Secret Invasion‘s on the horizon (or, at least, the fans’ complaints provided a reminder) by dropping a new promo for the incoming six-part production. The 30-second teaser is mostly made up of footage we’ve seen before, but at least it’s a promise that things are about to heat up on this front as we race ever closer to its Disney Plus due date later this June. Check it out above.

It’s curious that the House of Ideas has arguably been sleeping on Secret Invasion so far as all the signs are pointing to it being a project that could unite the ever-fractured MCU fandom. Everything we’ve seen about it so far suggests something that will harken back to the spy thriller energy of the acclaimed Captain America: The Winter Soldier. And with various franchise favorites included — like Don Cheadle’s Rhodey — alongside exciting newcomers — Emilia Clarke and Olivia Colman, anyone? — it could easily be one of the most positively received Multiverse Saga entries to date.

We’ll see if Secret Invasion lives up to the hype — even if said hype is coming from the fans more than the studio — once it hits Disney Plus on June 21.
