Love him or hate him, Cicada has proven to be quite the omnipresent threat on The Flash this season. And though he’s chalked up more losses than, say, the Reverse-Flash or Zoom, the team at STAR Labs have yet to find a way to definitively deal with him.
Actually, that may change next week when the gang finally put the finishing touches on the metahuman cure in the oddly titled “Failure is an Orphan.” And though my gut tells me they’ll fail in their attempt and this thing will be dragged on until the season finale, you never really know when a curveball will be thrown. Therefore, we can’t rule out this confrontation being for all the marbles.
Offering us a look into the crystal ball now are a dozen photos taken from said installment, each of which can be viewed in the gallery below. Fortunately, they don’t spoil the outcome to “King Shark vs. Gorilla Grodd,” so feel free to browse at your leisure.
For the most part, these images seem to show the preparation for the battle itself, but we do see the Scarlet Speedster confronting Cicada near the end of the slideshow. Furthermore, it appears as though Killer Frost is also along for the ride, which wouldn’t be a bad idea when one factors her past success against the big bad into the equation. I don’t know about you, but I really like this more casual look for her for some reason.

THE META-CURE IS READY TO USE ON CICADA — With the meta-human cure ready to use, Barry (Grant Gustin) and Team Flash must figure out a way to subdue Cicada (Chris Klein) long enough to take it. Martin) eases back into work, and Nora (Jessica Parker Kennedy) isn’t happy about the way her dad plans to stop Cicada. Viet Nguyen directed the episode written by Zack Stentz (#516).
