Promo For iZombie Season 2, Episode 5: “Love & Basketball”

The CW has released an extended promo video for next week's all-new episode of iZombie, which can be viewed above. Named after the 2000 film starring Omar Epps and Sanaa Lathan, "Love & Basketball" will see Liv and the gang investigate the murder of a peewee basketball coach. The footage no doubt captures only a small amount of the hilarity that will ensue as a result of Liv taking on his personality, so expect Rose McIver to once again turn in a memorable performance.

Speaking of which, it seems that she will give Major a few words of wisdom. Seeing as how he was finally willing to go to her for help near the conclusion of “Even Cowgirls Get The Black and Blues,” we can only hope that his road to recovery will begin sooner rather than later. Still, Coach Liv will probably say a few things that will make us laugh when we are not supposed to.

It will also be interesting to see what’s next for Blaine. The most recently aired episode had to be one of the most sharply written and acted episodes for that particular character, so seeing him have to form an uneasy alliance with Ravi to recreate a cure for the zombie plague should make for some interesting television. Blaine’s motivation is obviously less than virtuous given that this factors into his grand scheme of becoming Seattle’s new crime lord.

For more, check out the plot summary below:

THINGS ARE STARTING TO GET REAL — Liv (Rose McIver), Detective Babineaux (Malcolm Goodwin) and Ravi (Rahul Kohli) investigate the mysterious death of a peewee basketball coach.  Liv, consumed with overzealous coach brains, gives Major (Robert Buckley) a much needed pep talk. Meanwhile, things get a little crazy when Blaine (David Anders) and Ravi are forced to work together to recreate the cure. Lastly, Detective Babineaux receives a surprise visit from Suzuki’s widow Helen.

iZombie airs Tuesday nights at 9pm EST on The CW.
