Revolution returns to NBC for its sophomore season at the end of September and the network has already released an extended promo video to get fans pumped.

Season 1 of the hit drama ended with the loss of two of its recurring characters, Nora (Danielle Alonso) and Randall (Colm Feore), and the rest of the “good guys” scrambling to stop nuclear warheads from hitting two of the few post-blackout metropolises left in the United States.

Going into season 2, there are already some major plot points to look forward to. General Monroe (David Lyons) has been usurped by his men, leaving his territory open for the taking, or perhaps just a new leader. Miles (Billy Burke) will have to deal with the loss of Nora, while looking out for his niece, Charlie (Tracy Spiridakos), her mother, Rachel (Elizabeth Mitchell), and their prone-to-attracting-trouble friend, Aaron (Zak Orth). And, that still leaves us wandering after Captain Neville (Giancarlo Esposito) – er, former-Captain – and his rebellious son Jason (JD Pardo), wherever they may be headed now that Monroe’s threats are lacking the same authority they once held.

Despite the substantial mid-season hiatus, and several scheduling issues in the second part of the season which forced the network to push back the season finale, Revolution continues to be a fan favorite. If the full two and a half minute trailer is any indication, audiences will definitely get what they’ve been waiting for over the course of next season. It looks like season 2 of Revolution will be even more intense than the first.

Revolution comes back for season 2 on an all-new night, Wednesday, September 25th at 8 ET on NBC.
