It Doesn’t Sound Like Frank Miller Is A Fan Of Marvel’s Plans For Elektra

Daredevil was a massively disappointing comic book movie, and Elektra was really no better. Both of those failed to get much about the character right, and that's a big part of why fans are so excited to see a new take on the deadly assassin in season two of the Man Without Fear's Netflix series.

Daredevil was a massively disappointing comic book movie, and Elektra was really no better. Both of those failed to get much about the character right, and that’s a big part of why fans are so excited to see a new take on the deadly assassin in season two of the Man Without Fear’s Netflix series.

However, one person who isn’t particularly interested in seeing Elektra on the small screen is her creator, Frank Miller. That likely stems from the fact that he was unhappy with Marvel forcing him to resurrect the character, and he’s said on numerous occasions that he doesn’t consider any version of the character – in the comics or in live-action – to be the “real” Elektra, something he emphasized during an appearance at Brazil CCXP.

“They can call it whatever you want, but it will not be the real Elektra. I’m her father.”

Miller is a very divisive figure, and even admitted to not having seen the first season of Daredevil during this Q&A. He’s also said in the past that he won’t watch any Batman movies because they don’t feature what he considers to be the “real” Batman (it will be interesting to see if that changes seeing as Batman V Superman is heavily inspired by The Dark Knight Returns).

Elodie Yung is playing the new Elektra and she’s described as, “a mysterious woman from Matt Murdock’s past whose dangerous and exotic ways may be more than he can handle.” Sounds exciting to us, and we can hardly wait to see how the character turns out in season two of Daredevil.
