Seen in the gallery down below, the pics feature a number of old faces we already got to know in season 1, including Michael Burnham (Sonequa Martin-Green), Saru (Doug Jones), Paul Stamets (Anthony Rapp) and Sylvia Tilly (Mary Wiseman). Other crew members featured, meanwhile, include Joann Owosekun (Oyin Oladejo), Bryce (Ronnie Rowe), Nhan (Rachel Ancherii) and Keyla Detmer (Emily Coutts). In one photo, you can also spot Sarek (James Frain), the father of Spock and the adoptive father of Michael. And let’s not forget the new face showcased in the gallery, too: Discovery’s next captain, Christopher Pike (Anson Mount).

Not captured in the collection here is Spock, as played by Ethan Peck, who’ll temporarily be jumping over from the Enterprise this season to investigate a string of mysterious red bursts that are appearing in the sky, as well as a peculiar figure known only as the Red Angel. It’s been promised that the show will also explore what made Spock the Vulcan we know him as in The Original Series, which should be fascinating to see.

Alongside this new iteration of Spock, another thing that’s grabbing attention is the presence of Captain Pike, who’s one of the few Trek characters with as long a history as Spock as they both debuted in TOS‘ pilot, “The Cage.” Mount’s teased that Pike’ll be the courageous, trustworthy captain the crew need after the discovered treachery of Gabriel Lorca in season 1. And we’ll get to meet him next week, when Star Trek: Discovery finally makes its return.
