The fourth episode of webseries Star Wars: Forces of Destiny has arrived online today. While the first two outings for the series, released earlier this week, starred The Force Awakens’s Rey (as played by Daisy Ridley) and the third featured Princess Leia, this latest instalment moves away from a hero from the movies to focus on a TV fan favourite instead.

Titled “The Padawan Path,” episode four stars Ahsoka Tano, the Padawan of Anakin Skywalker, as introduced in the Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated series. In this short, Ahsoka – or “snips” as Anakin calls her – is running late for an important awards ceremony due to some problems with a marauding droid.

Fans of The Clone Wars will notice that the short sees Ashley Eckstein reprise the role from the animated series, and its follow-up Rebels. Matt Lanter is also back on board as Anakin and, of course, there’s a cameo from everyone’s favourite backwards-talking Jedi Master Yoda to boot.

The episode takes place in happier times for Ahsoka, compared to what fans have seen recently. Tano later lost faith in the Jedi ways and left the Order, which allowed her to escape the fate of her fellow Jedis when Order 66 was instigated. In Rebels season 4, the character has returned to aid the crew of The Ghost and has had to come to terms with the fact that her former master is now the most terrifying Sith Lord of them all.

Let’s hope Tano makes an appearance in future installments of Forces of Destiny, perhaps even in a crossover with one of the movie characters. Fans have been wanting to see Ahsoka crossover to the big screen for a while now but despite interest from actress Rosario Dawson, no plans are currently in the works. As such, this might be the next best thing.

Star Wars: Forces of Destiny will continue to be shared on YouTube over the next few weeks and will also start airing on the Disney Channel on July 9th.
