The Stars Of The Arrowverse Say Goodbye To Arrow In New Video

Arrow comes to an end this year with its eighth and final season. The landscape of superhero TV would be plenty different if Stephen Amell had never suited up as the Green Arrow (or the Hood, as he was known at the time). We'd never have got the ever-expanding Arrowverse, for one. Arrow comes to an end this year with its eighth and final season. The landscape of superhero TV would be plenty different if Stephen Amell had never suited up as the Green Arrow (or the Hood, as he was known at the time) back in 2012. We’d never have got the ever-expanding Arrowverse, for one.

Now, with the show that started it all reaching its conclusion in just a few months, the stars of The CW’s DC shared universe have offered their farewells in this new video courtesy of EW. Alongside their stunning cover shoot for the Arrowverse’s new seasons, the outlet shared a video in which Grant Gustin (the Flash), Melissa Benoist (Supergirl), Caity Lotz (White Canary) and Ruby Rose (Batwoman) reflect on the ending of Arrow. Plus, the Emerald Archer himself teases the “awesome” final season.

“None of this would have been possible without Stephen and without the groundwork that Arrow laid,” Gustin said on the topic of Arrow‘s upcoming end.

“Stephen, you are our fearless leader and you started all of this,” Benoist said, in a message directed at Amell. “And it’s not going to be the same without you.”

“It’s the last season of Arrow,” Amell himself says to wrap up the video, talking to the fans. “Thank you for coming on this journey with us. And we hope that this last season is awesome.”

The star has previously teased some exciting things to come in Arrow 8 as Amell recently tweeted that he’s losing sleep because of his anticipation of the cool stuff he’s getting to do at work everyday. It also looks like the eighth season will celebrate the history of the show, as two old faces have been confirmed to return. Namely, Colin Donnell (Tommy Merlyn) and Josh Segarra (Prometheus).

Suffice it to say, there’s lots to look forward to when Arrow season 8 premieres on Sunday, October 6th. Before that, though, expect the first trailer, thanks to SDCC, to arrive tomorrow.
