Stephen Amell Teases New Costume And Trick Arrow For Season 6

Even though there may have been some subtle differences in the earlier seasons, the fact of the matter is that Stephen Amell has actually donned a new costume with each passing year of Arrow. Still, it wasn't until season 4 that Oliver Queen received a massive upgrade, with longer sleeves applied in the next. Obviously, one would expect that trend to continue, but any footage we've thus far seen from the upcoming batch of episodes shows him wearing familiar threads.

According to Amell himself, though, “You will see a new Arrow suit this year,” as he boldly stated when speaking this past weekend at Heroes & Villains FanFest in New Jersey. Not only that, but he also said that we’ll be seeing a new trick arrow in the four-way crossover this fall. To date, there have been quite the variety – including a nod to the boxing glove arrow from the comics – so we’re excited to see what the prop department has to offer next.

Speaking of the crossover, one can’t help but wonder if that’s when the new duds will be introduced. As you may recall, what appeared to be a black Green Arrow costume was teased last month, so we’re not ready to rule out the possibility of an alternate universe version of the character being the one to wear the suit in question. Or, we could have it both ways, but only time will tell.

As for the titular hero himself, Amell teased him as being in a better mood come this fall:

“It’s a strange thing. Oliver actually this season is a very contented individual. At least so far. Methinks that will probably change, based on just 120some episodes of history. But I’ve seen three episodes and he’s smiling a lot more….. It’s nice as an actor to not be a stick in the mud all the time.”

Arrow returns for its sixth season on Thursday, October 12 on The CW.
