The Girl of Steel is returning to our screens in just under a month and from everything we’ve heard so far, Supergirl‘s fourth season promises to be a particularly awesome run of the Arrowverse show.

Even if you’re not feeling the hype just yet, don’t worry, as this cool new poster for the upcoming season should hopefully fix that. With a bold red color scheme, the one-sheet sees Melissa Benoist in full regalia as the Last Daughter of Krypton, with the caption teasing that season 4 will see Kara Zor-El play the part of “a force against fear.”

Check it out in the gallery below:

The color scheme here is presumably a reference to the fact that season 4 is set to loosely adapt the Superman: Red Son storyline from the comics, in what the showrunners are calling their “Red Daughter” arc. If you’ll recall, the season 3 finale revealed that a doppelganger of Kara had landed in Siberia, much like the alternate Supes who was raised in Communist Russia in Red Son.

Presumably, Supergirl will explore similar themes to the book, examining how growing up to believe in different values and beliefs changes how the Kryptonian uses her powers. Perhaps the Red Daughter is the “fear” which Kara, often dubbed a force for hope, is “against.”

Of course, season 4 will also see fear spread through National City, as Sam Witwer’s Agent Liberty gains a lot of support by spreading anti-alien propaganda. Those who ally with him include Mercy Graves (Rhonda Mitra) and Otis (Robert Baker), Lex Luthor’s former henchmen who’ve gone rogue.

On the side of the supers, meanwhile, Kara will get a new ally in the form of Nia Nal AKA Dreamer, as played by Nicole Maines, who just happens to be TV’s first ever transgender superhero. Plus, Jesse Rath’s Brainiac-5 has been bumped up to a regular role to fill the gap left by Jeremy Jordan’s Winn Schott.

Supergirl flies back to The CW on Sunday, October 14th.
