Supergirl returned to CBS last night with an explosive new episode, and the network has today released the official description for the eleventh outing. An interesting bit of trivia about this instalment is the fact that Melissa Benoist’s real-life husband Blake Jenner is going to be making an appearance, and details on his role in Supergirl can be found below.

The title of the episode is “Strange Visitor From Another Planet,” and here’s the description courtesy of CBS:

Kara must help Hank face his painful past when a White Martian, a member of the alien race that wiped out his people, kidnaps Senator Miranda Crane (Tawny Cypress), an anti-alien politician. Also, Cat’s estranged son, Adam (Blake Jenner), arrives in National City, on SUPERGIRL, Monday, Jan. 25 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

This sounds like a good one, and the fact that there’s clearly going to be a lot of focus on Martian Manhunter automatically makes it pretty exciting. That character’s inclusion in Supergirl came as a huge surprise, especially as pretty much everyone expected Hank Henshaw to be revealed as Cyborg Superman.

This isn’t the first time he’s played a role in a “Super” themed TV series of course, as Martian Mahunter also showed up in Superman prequel Smallville, but it’s certainly something that we’re happy about.

Tell us, what are you most looking forward to seeing in this episode of Supergirl? Sound off below and let us know.
