Superman And Supergirl Team Up In New Arrowverse Crossover Pic

Supergirl and Superman team up in this new behind the scenes pic from the upcoming Arrowverse crossover, which premieres this December.

Elseworlds was one of the more intriguing projects DC Comics ever did. Essentially, the idea was to let their writers off the leash a bit so that they could dream up new and bizarre versions of their universe. For those familiar with it, you’ll know that it gave us classic stories like Batman: Red RainKingdom Come and Superman: Red Son, before being left dormant in 2003 (there was a brief resurrection in 2010, but that only saw one title released under the imprint).

It seems that the producers behind the various Arrowverse shows haven’t forgotten about it, though, as it’s now being used as the basis for what’s said to be the franchise’s biggest crossover event yet. As you’ve no doubt heard, the storyline will see the introduction of Ruby Rose’s Batwoman, but also really interesting is that Grant Gustin’s Flash and Stephen Amell’s Green Arrow are going to be swapping superhero identities – and costumes! But the fun doesn’t end there.

Tyler Hoechlin’s Superman will also be flying by to help out and now, we’ve got a new behind the scenes pic from filming in Vancouver that sees him and Supergirl teaming up to face an unknown threat. It’s not quite as good as an official shot of the two heroes in action, but it’s still pretty exciting nonetheless as we’re beyond eager to see them reunited on our screens.

Of course, the mysterious threat that the two Kryptonians are facing here is far from the only thing we don’t yet know about “Elseworlds.” Truthfully speaking, we actually know very little about what to expect from this year’s crossover, but with each new piece of the puzzle we receive, we only become that much more intrigued.

Thankfully, we’ll find out soon enough why Barry and Oliver have changed places, why Supes dons a black suit and just how Batwoman fits into all this, as the Arrowverse crossover begins on Sunday, December 9 with The Flash, continues on Monday, December 10 with Arrow, and wraps up on Tuesday, December 11 with Supergirl.
