A Bruised Frank Castle Headlines Latest Set Photos For The Punisher Season 2

A bruised and battered Frank Castle closes in on his prey in the latest set photos for The Punisher season 2, which is still filming across parts of NYC.

Say what you will about Marvel’s roster of Netflix series and the connective tissue it shares with Infinity War and the wider MCU – or lack thereof – but there’s no question that the studio’s TV arm is firing on all cylinders.

Earlier this year, for instance, subscribers were treated to the second installment of Jessica Jones, which ultimately failed to replace Kilgrave with a truly meaningful and nuanced villain. Luke Cage will be hoping to avoid the same trap next month, when Harlem’s Hero for Hire will confront John McIver (AKA the Bushmaster) in order to appease the citizens of Harlem.

Daredevil and Iron Fist are also poised for more solo adventure in the coming months, but beyond The Defenders, there’s another Marvel favorite gearing up for his next mission. His name? Frank Castle, better known to you, I and the people of Hell’s Kitchen as The Punisher.

He’s back with a vengeance, too, as earlier this week we caught a glimpse of Jon Bernthal’s mercenary opening fire on a familiar friend-turned-foe: Billy Russo. And though he doesn’t feature in this new gallery of pics, below you’ll see a battered and bruised Castle.

Though hardly the most revealing shots, these new snaps from the set show us that the titular anti-hero hasn’t lost his edge since enacting vengeance on the Homeland agents responsible for the deaths of his wife and children. That leaves Castle in a pretty interesting spot, mentally speaking, as we approach season 2.

The Punisher is still lensing across parts of NYC and will mostly likely be with us before the year’s end, right around the same time that we expect to see Matt Murdock take the fight to Bullseye, the psychopathic assassin previously played by Colin Farrell.
