New Titans Promo Hits Back At Deadpool For Making Fun Of DC Being Dark

While the Merc was getting stabbed in the neck by Cable (before they were best buds), he delivered one of the funniest lines of Deadpool 2, saying: "So dark! Are you sure you're not from the DC Universe?" Now, upcoming TV show Titans has hit back at this criticism by uh, *checks notes* posting a video on Twitter (seen below) showing Robin bloodily beating up some guys with a pipe and then telling "Mr. Pool" to "suck it."

Honestly, I’m pretty confused here. Surely if you’re trying to hit back at criticisms of you being too dark and not funny you’d want to post something other than a grungy, dark and tortured Robin splashing blood smears across windows as he brutalizes some security guards, right?

Despite a few positive impressions coming out of New York Comic Con, I can’t say I’m looking forward to Titans very much. I think the same can be said for many Teen Titans fans, too. The show has been something of a laughing stock ever since we got a look at those hideous costumes (and that ridiculous ‘Fuck Batman’ trailer). From the promotional art to the previews to the Twitter feed, it’s all been pretty crappy looking.

But, I do trust our own reviewer Eric Joseph, who gave the first season 3.5/5 stars and said that the show was proof that you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover. He also pointed out the following:

“The brouhahas here look as though they came from the mind of Eli Roth. Believe it or not, Robin actually stabs a guy in the dick!”

…uh… cool?

If this does actually turn out to be good, then at the very least Warner Bros. should fire whoever they’ve put in charge of marketing it, as every single advance impression made Titans look like utter dog shit. Regardless, we’ll find out for ourselves this Friday, when the show finally premieres.
