In “How It’s Gotta Go,” all the ongoing plotlines from the front half of the season converged in some exciting ways. For one, it didn’t all go down quite as Rick had been hoping for. Despite his best efforts to run a tight ship, Andrew Lincoln’s leader has had to deal with a rogue element these past few weeks in Norman Reedus’ Daryl, whose gambit to ram a truck into the Sanctuary totally backfired. Instead of setting a horde of walkers on them, it freed them from their confinement, teeing up this week’s showdown as Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s villain set off for Alexandria wanting blood.

All in all, the episode managed to live up to the hype, with shocks and surprises galore. Unfortunately, it also left us with a bunch of questions and we’ve now got a whole two months to wait until The Walking Dead returns to our screens. Thankfully, then, AMC’s released little sneak peek of what’s to come and you can check it out up above.

So, just what can we expect from the following eight installments of the season? Well, the network is keeping quiet on details at the moment, with episode titles and synopses still remaining under wraps and this preview not really showing us very much. However, we have been told to prepare for the back half of season 8 to feature some “horrifying things” to come, kickstarted by the shocks contained in the midseason finale.

We don’t have an official date for when exactly The Walking Dead will return, but based on previous years, we can probably expect it to arrive on AMC around February 11th. As always, watch this space for more.
