Wally West Steps In For The Scarlet Speedster In The Flash’s Midseason Premiere Synopsis

It also revealed that he was caught by the Flash, so when he appears in Central City in the midseason premiere, Barry Allen has second thoughts about stopping him in the hope of proving that the future can be changed. A bad guy like that can’t be left to run rampant, though, hence why Wally West’s Kid-Flash is going to have to step up in his place to take him down.

For more on what to expect from this episode of The Flash, here’s the newly released synopsis for “Borrowing Problems from the Future” courtesy of The CW:

Barry (Grant Gustin) is tormented by his vision of the future where Iris (Candice Patton) is murdered by Savitar. When a criminal named Plunder (guest star Stephen Huszar) shows up in Central City, Barry recalls the villain’s presence in his vision of the future and fears that if he catches Plunder, it will cement Iris’ fate. Confused about Barry’s hesitation to stop Plunder, Wally (Keiynan Lonsdale) decides to step in as Kid Flash. Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker) offers Julian (Tom Felton) a job. Millicent Shelton directed the episode written by Grainne Godfree & David Kob.

Barry has already had doubts about Wally becoming a speedster, so him deciding to interfere like this could definitely cause some serious issues between the two. We’ll just have to wait and see how it all plays out, but The Flash returns on January 24th, so hopefully more will be revealed over the next couple of weeks.
