At the end of this Tuesday’s “P.O.W.”, which saw David Ramsey guest star as Arrow‘s John Diggle, Barry was overjoyed to be reunited with Nora, and then stunned to find out that he has a son, too. This trailer gives us a glimpse at how Team Flash deals with the revelation – Chester (Brandon McKnight) freaks out, as you’d expect, while Iris (Candice Patton) is depicted hugging her kids in what’s sure to be an adorable scene.

But what about this third speedster who’s coming to join the fight? Yes, it’s Jay Garrick, with John Wesley Shipp making his grand return to the franchise for the first time since “Crisis on Infinite Earths”. We’ve known that he was going to be showing up as the Flash of Earth-3 for a while now, but it’s good to see him in that winged helmet once again. Seeing as he’s a doppelganger of Barry’s dad Henry Allen, we’ve essentially got three generations of the Flash family coming together to save Central City. Sounds like the perfect way to mark The Flash‘s 150th episode.

Here’s the official synopsis for the episode, which is titled “Heart of the Matter, Part 1”, the first half of a two-part finale storyline:

XS AND IMPULSE SURPRISE BARRY AND IRIS IN THE 150TH EPISODE OF “THE FLASH” – Barry (Grant Gustin) and Iris (Candice Patton) greet their future children, XS (guest star Jessica Parker Kennedy) and Bart (guest star Jordan Fisher), only for a shocking secret to threaten their new familial harmony. Meanwhile, the Godspeed war intensifies and threatens to destroy Central City. Eric Dean Seaton directed the episode written by Eric Wallace & Lauren Barnett.

Who knows what the “shocking secret” is that threatens to tear the Allen family apart or how the assembled speedsters will be able to stop the Godspeed civil war that’s raging across the city. Find out the answers when The Flash continues next Tuesday, July 13th on The CW.
